Who we are

We are two Thai families who grew up loving chicken rice. After moving to the DMV area, we searched everywhere for an affordable, truly authentic Thai Chicken Rice but could not find one that tasted like home. The closest we found was all the way in Queens, NYC.

One day, we came across a small space inside Lotte Plaza Market in Chantilly, just 10 minutes from our house. The warm glass display cabinet instantly reminded us of the chicken rice shops back in Thailand, and that was when the idea first sparked.

During about a month of discussions, we realized we shared the same belief: a good restaurant does not need a long menu. Instead, it should focus on doing one thing well, constantly improving it while maintaining quality. After three months of preparation, Ah Leng Chicken Rice was born, and we proudly opened our doors on January 15, 2026, bringing a true taste of Thai comfort food to our community.

When you arrive at Lotte Plaza Chantilly, park and enter through the main entrance. Once inside, walk past the fresh produce section. You’ll see the sushi counter in the middle of the store.

Ah Leng is located right next to the sushi counter. Look for our yellow storefront with the “Ah Leng” sign above it.

How to find us?
